It’s a clone/regrowth of Psypets, which I played religiously for years before the creator pissed me off and I left. Soon after he left as well and the game basically stagnated. I still check in from time to time, but it’s sad to be there.
However! TerrePets is my friend Onyx’s attempt to raise the spirit of Psypets from the ashes. The creator of Psypets was generous enough to release the code for the game to the public, and Onyx has been working on her version for over a year now. It just launched yesterday and it’s already really cute!
The idea is that you raise real animals but they can do so much more than real animals! Your pets can have jobs and personalities, they can fight and play, and they can live and die. TerrePets aims to be a more adult-oriented pet simulation, so it’s not Neopets. You can curse, your pets can die, and it’s looking to be great!
A lot of old Psypets players have returned, but new blood is always great! I’d be so glad if anyone who likes pet games would join! TerrePets is in it’s earliest beta stages so things are still a bit weird, but it’s going to be so great! I promise!
(I said “great” a lot, didn’t I? I’m really, really excited!)
