I was drawn in by the movie, it was just exciting, and i liked that it wasnt full of blood and gore (somethign I loathe), but it still maintained an active story. Then I fell in love with Edward, now im falling in love with Jasper

Read the books before the hype, wasn't particulary impressed by the writing but was invested in the story and had to finish...cringing by the end. I haven't seen the movie. I refuse. But then, I've read worse romance novels... So who am I to judge.

I was almost the same, though I had read some of the criticism beforehand. Regardless, I was not prepared for how much I would loath the series. XD

Truth be told the hundreds of thousands of screaming tweens doesn't help the cause.

Exactly. I'd hate it a lot less if I wasn't constantly being told I should love it and I didn't "read it right" if I don't. I've had a coworker tell me as much.
